Kurtis Alan is a guitar player based in Walnut Creek, California. He plays electric, acoustic and slide guitar and sings backup vocals in the well-known San Francisco Bay Area band Delta Deuce. Kurtis has been playing musician a wide variety of blues-based bands for some 30 years, and his influences include Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Jerry Garcia, Keith Richards and Mark Knopfler.
Ron started playing drums in elementary school and continued through high school belonging to the marching band, stage band, orchestra as well as several smaller quartets. He began playing professionally at 16 with his high school music teacher in various clubs and venues in Inglewood California. After college he joined the rock band ‘Bittersweet’ in Chico California. The band moved to the Bay Area in 1970. ‘Bittersweet’ played a mix of originals and covers. It opened for many of the big acts of the day such as the Doobie Brothers, Tower of Power, Boz Scaggs, Harvey Mandel, Hot Tuna, and the Guess Who at venues such as the Sacramento Civic, Fillmore West, and several night clubs in San Francisco. It was the house band at the ‘North Beach Revival’ Nightclub in North beach for nearly a year in 1971.
In 2005 he joined a band in Half Moon Bay California called ‘Catie Chase and the Getaways’ that became one of the most popular bands on the northern California coast. The Catie band appeared twice at the Little Fox Theater in Redwood City as well as appearances at the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival, and many dates at the Half Moon Bay Brewery.
Ron is very grateful to be a part of Electric Delta Deuce and have a chance to play venues in his local community.
Scott started guitar in high school and played with some local bands. In college he pursued solo gigs in the nearby college bars. He also won the college talent contest he entered with a borrowed guitar.
After college, life got in the way until he found a lonely guitar at a yard sale. After getting his mojo back he started performing solo gigs at wineries, wine bars and private parties. In 2008 he formed Delta Deuce with Kuris and they have been performng as a duo in the bay area.
Electric Delta Deuce was formed to get more energy and open up our song options for more dancable songs and more variety.
Michael Kotsos is a left handed guitar player based in Walnut Creek, California. He plays bass and sings backup vocals, with the occasional foray into lead vocal.
Michael started playing a converted “garage sale six string” in his home town of Montreal. In his late teens, he moved to LA and played rhythm guitar and keyboards in local rock bands. After marriage and family building, he revisited his musical roots. After moving to the Bay Area he discovered the bass. And the rest as you say is history.
Michael loves to play rock, blues and country. His influences include Rush, SRV, Clapton, Allman Bros, Gordon Lightfoot, Jeff Healey.
